Z neo-conservative — A relatively new term that really just emphasizes a few aspects of conservative philosophy; typically associated with low taxes, stronger government influence than in traditional conservatism, and strong foreign policy; while it has been given legitimacy, it is little more than another attempt to label and divide.
neo-liberal — A relatively new term that really just emphasizes a few aspects of liberal philosophy; typically associated with liberal economic policies including free trade, maintaining budget surpluses through tax increases, and limiting government influence on the market; while it has been given legitimacy, it is little more than another attempt to label and divide.
New World Order — Political rhetoric without any specific meaning; originated sometime around Woodrow Wilson and his plans for the world after World War I; while it continues to crop up, it obviously has little in common with that first occurrence and really needs to drop the 'new' part at some point.
NOW — The National Organization for Women is one of the most well-known political activist groups in the U.S.; started in 1966 with the birth of modern feminist ideas; chapters in every state. (
